William Gibson – Spook Country

Few authors can be credited with birthing a genre, but with his science fiction novel Neuromancer, William Gibson created “cyberpunk.” Gibson says his new novel “is set ‘in the same universe,’ as Pattern Recognition… It takes place during the spring of 2006. One of the viewpoint characters is a young Cuban-Chinese immigrant, Russian-speaking, whose relatives comprise one of the smallest, tightest organized-crime families in the United States.

Diaries 1969-1979: The Python Years

Michael Palin is known for his inventive genius and astonishing versatility. A founding member of the Monty Python comedy troupe, Palin is also a screenwriter and a host of travel documentaries. With the Pythons, Palin became part of an international comedy phenomenon that spawned such glories as Monty Python’s Life of Brian, Monty Python and the Holy Grail,and “The Lumberjack Song.”

Author Events are held at the Central Library at 19th & Vine Streets. Doors open 45 minutes before each presentation. Books are sold at each program and a book signing with the author follows each event, unless noted.
