[...] I was going to write a little rant about how I’ve been ignoring everybody’s favorite Coke-and-Gap pitchman, Common, for roughly a decade or so, but now might be the time to scrounge up a copy of Finding Forever, because he seems to be more of a darling than ever.
[...] The infamous date and ensuing hype surrounding the respective releases is to be expected, as West and 50 are considered in most circles as the two biggest rap stars in the hip-hop galaxy. West, who counts production for some of the biggest names in the industry and brings to the table two classic albums of his own, The College Dropout and Late Registration, is fresh off supplying the musical backing for Common’s Finding Forever (Phawker-certified Hip-Hop album of the summer, doncha know). Fiddy, the G-Unit general, readies Curtis, his third solo release, following subpar showings from G-Unit Soldiers Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Mobb Deep. Fiddy is expected to straight-up and singlehandedly resurrect his G-Unit empire. The Massacre was the best-selling release of 2005, moving 1.14 million copies in its first week, while the same year, West’s Late Registration sold more than 860,000 copies its first week.
M. Emanuel,

Great review! I have been a Common fan since he was Common Sense and I have seen the growth. I will definitely be checking for the album and I will post my own review on my blog @ http://hotinstrumentals.blogspot.com.

The music game is pretty much awful in my opinion and it is good to see artists like Common who are still true. I think the problem that we have in the industry is that the newer artists don't really care about the significance of the Hiphop Kulture. They just wanna get paid. While getting paid is great, being responsible is more important and knowing your history is even more important.

Thanks again for the review M. and have a great day!
