Stephen, I cannot call you Mister Smith, nor can I call you a man of good qualities. I saw right thru your remarks about Mr. Tiger Woods Press Conference, and I must say, our White Community cannot see the underlined remarks you are making, but a a Black professional I see it all thru it. I have watched you occasionally and find you an militant angry, Black man, who wants to use every moment to tear down everyone you find inadequate. What about all of the other sports athelete's who Made the Mistake, where are they. How come there families are not in the media circle. Tiger Woods is the Best African American Golfer In History....If he was a nobody, or a sub player..no one would give a damn..including you. But maybe this is because he has a beautiful Caucasian Wife with Beautiful Blonde hair, with plenty of money to spare. Or maybe there are no Sister's with the group of women he had affairs with. Maybe that is why you are so mad. Here we go again, same ole' song. A brother tearing another Brother down for his success, His beautiful White Women, His hard work in achieveing his greatness, His mistake. Most great men in history has made this bad mistake. Mr. Woods will have to deal with this on his own time. And you...the Angry Brother Syndrome. Take your stuff somewhere else...I'm not buying it.

Lauryn and Duane (aka Stephen A. Smith and his mom),
You must be the only two fans of the loud-mouthed, pompous ass. He even manages to come off as a dick more effectively than Walton, Rome and that douche bag Bayless. Smith embodies all the stereotypes of the loud, angry black man.

Lauryn wrote: He "gave athletes, particulalry Black athletes, a forum where they could show their humanity, without being scrutinized by what are often racist and envious commentators who wish they had the talent and the influence that they have."

BULL SHIT. His show was all about him, not his guests. No matter the guest, he would always find a way to get on his soap box. He routinely talked over guests and played excessively to the crowd. If you want insight and humanity, look to Bryant Gumble -- not this bojangler.

Stephen A. is a icon. He is very straight-forward and addresses issues that mainstream (white) america is uncomfortable with (i.e racism)
It is unfortunate that the show was cancelled, because if was a very unique show and extremely entertaining as well as informative!

Stephen A. did a great job and will be sorely missed. I am sure that we will see him again, when the public is able to catch up with his vision -- which is beyond what the average American is able to understand. His show dealt with sports, but also politics, religion and life. It gave athletes, particulalry Black athletes, a forum where they could show their humanity, without being scrutinized by what are often racist and envious commentators who wish they had the talent and the influence that they have. Best of luck to Stephen.

Good riddance. There's nothing he could have done about his ratings because he comes off as a pompous jackass -- which I doubt he could help because I'm sure he is a pompous ass. He must have played a mean rusty trombone to get the gig in the first place.
